Quebec wouldn’t be such a hub for filmmaking if it didn’t offer a bunch of great locations for filming and that is what we’ll discuss in this blog post. We have assembled a resource round-up of some of the best locations for filming in Quebec, with a focus on Montreal. The MELS film studios, located near downtown Montreal, are designed to meet the needs of small, medium, and large film and television projects. They also have a virtual production studio.
MELS has purpose-built stages, cameras and lighting, visual effects, video and audio post-production, photochemical laboratory and image restoration.

Fullum Films has its own production studio located in the heart of Montreal. Since its opening, it has been the home of over 50 film and TV productions with a combined value of $250 million.
Fullum consist of 4 stages ranging from 2000sq ft (186 m2) to 34 000 sq ft. (3,159 m2), with a total space of 43 000sq ft (3,995 m2), coupled with 4 000sq ft (372m2) of office space and art departments.

Studio-Notre Dame is located at 500 rue Alphonse D Roy, Montreal and measures 100’ x 45’. This studio is good for filming TV shows, short films, music videos and other creative content. The studio has a lighting grid 28’ from the ground. There is a changing room, stations for hair/makeup and storage space for costumes, props, etc.
Studio Angus is located at 4888 Rue Molson, Montreal and measures 6,150 square feet. This space is also ready to accommodate films, TV shows, music videos and other creative content.

Fh Studio offers 10,000 square feet of soundstage space for rent. Fh also provides film, photography equipment for rent on site, including cameras, lenses, and lighting gear.
Located in the heart of Saint-Henri, Montreal, this studio is minutes away from highways, a metro station, bus stops, the airport, etc. Parking space is offered as well.
They also offer a few smaller studios, such as “Pineapple Express”, which is 2,000 square feet.

Located at 405 Dickson #107 in Montreal, this studio space measures 33'x39' and has a hanging grid of 14’ 6” in height. There is also an electric panel with amps and distribution boxes.
There is a separate space provided for hair/makeup/wardrobe. There is also a storage/loading dock in addition to outdoor parking spaces.
A guest area and kitchen area are also provided.

Studio du Chateau is located at 4030 Rue Saint-Ambroise #430, Montréal and has two studios:

Located at 995 Wellington St, Montreal, this studio is 3,000 square feet and has 14’ high ceilings. There is a loading dock and a freight elevator.
This studio has a cyclorama that measures 24′ (wide) X 12′ (height) X 60′ (depth).
A hair/makeup room, a kitchen and parking spaces are available.
Studio Rush is 2,500 square feet and has a 1,000 square foot cyclorama wall.
Studio Rush is fully equipped to handle a full sized film production. The studio has equipment available to rent, including cameras, lights, grip gear and audio gear.
17 feet above the set, the studio has a 40’ by 40’ grid that can hold up to 10,000 pounds comfortably.

There is a large multi-purpose room located in the chief nave of the Saint-Adrien church. It can be used as a set or a performance space, a live recording, a gathering or anything you may need.
There is also a high-end recording studio for sound designers and post-production in the church.

The Church of St. John the Evangelist located at 137, avenue du Président Kennedy, Montreal, has accommodated various film and TV productions over the years.
The church is on the Université du Québec à Montréal campus.

The Saint Joseph's Oratory located at 3800, chemin Queen Mary, Montreal, is a beautiful Roman Catholic basilica and national shrine. It is a National Historic Site and is Canada's largest church, with one of the largest church domes in the world.

The Notre-Dame Basilica located at 110, rue Notre-Dame Ouest, Montreal, is regarded as a masterpiece of Gothic Revival architecture. Various film and TV productions have filmed here over the years.
The church is filled with hundreds of wooden carvings and several religious statues.

The Westmount Park United Church is located at 4695 boul de maisonneuve oust in Westmount, QC. This church includes Webster Hall, which is a large room (46’3″ x 51’1″) with a high ceiling. It has a stage (40’9″ x 18’9″) with curtains and lighting.

By far the most popular filming locations in Montreal are its biggest parks, especially Mount Royal. Located at 1260 Remembrance Rd, Montreal.
This park features sizable green space, trails, a lake with boat rentals and striking city panoramas.

Dorchester Square in downtown Montreal is a popular filming location. The square is located at 2903 Peel St, Montreal.
Together with Place du Canada, the area is just over 230,000 square feet. The square is open to the public 24 hours a day.

The Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) has accommodated various film and TV shoots over the years. All non-news filming at the airport requires a filming permit. ADM is responsible for both Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport and Montréal-Mirabel International Airport.
